Riverfest 2011, Part 1

Every June, Fort Drum hosts Riverfest. It's a big celebration on the St. Lawrence River, involving a boat ride around the Thousand Islands, a tour of Boldt Castle, and a BBQ on the castle grounds. This was our second year celebrating Riverfest as a family.

Here's the boat we went on, moored at Boldt Castle.

As part of the boat ride, we get a guided tour of the Thousand Islands--literally thousands of islands that dot the St. Lawrence River. We also get to cross into watery Canadian territory without having to bring along a passport.
