Pretty Flower

Honey Bear never wears anything in her hair for very long, so after her big sis put this pretty flower headband in her hair, we rushed to get her picture taken before she took it off!

11th Birthday!

Panda Bear just had her 11th birthday! Hooray! The Saturday before her birthday, she got to invite a friend to go with us to see the movie Frankenweenie, followed by Wendy's Frosties at the food court. On her birthday, she was just getting over the stomach flu, but by afternoon, she felt good as new and able to enjoy cake and presents!

She got lots of books (Goosebumps Horrorland series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, National Geographic Angry Birds, Pokemon guidebook), a magic 8 ball, candy, a Sponge Bob Mad Libs, and DS games. She's also getting in the mail her very own scripture set (not the cheap-o economy edition) with scripture tote. Yay!

Cake designed and made by Mama for her little Goosebumps girl!

Making a wish

Ooooh....smoke! (From the birthday candles.)

Papa got off of work early for Panda's birthday (he's been staying until 8 o'clock almost every night), so we headed to the mall for dinner at the food court, kiddie rides, arcade games, and (of course) a stop at the pet shop to see the cute puppies.

Cars!

Well, if you don't know yet, Gummy Bear LOVES cars--anything cars. Disney Cars. Books about cars. Hot Wheel cars. Race cars on TV. Trucks, tractors, cars, and more cars. He's even got a race car bed! This year, we decided to feed his obsession a little more with a Cars-themed family birthday party. And he got lots of cars and trucks for his birthday!

Licking the Bowl

Princess Tea Party

Cinnamon planned her 6th birthday party a year in advance. She pestered Mama about it all through the months. At last, her birthday came, and all her dreams came true. She got a perfect princess tea party. There was a dress-up table, with dresses, lip gloss, nail polish, and bling. There were balloons and pom-pom flowers hanging from the ceiling. There was a princess dance lesson. There was a table laden with delicate sandwiches, luscious fruit, crisp crackers, smooth cheese, pink lemonade, and cold Korean barley tea. For dessert, there were princess cupcakes. And there was lots of fun and play with friends. She was a very happy little lady!

First Day of School 2012

Yes, three kids in school this year! A 5th grader, a 1st grader, and a pre-k'er! Honey Bear gets a little time to herself with Mama each day! Gummy Bear only goes to pre-k for 2 1/2 hours each day.

(It may look like Gummy is crying, but he's actually smiling with his eyes squeezed shut.)

Hiking Date

Papa and Mama went on a hiking date in July (no kids). We decided to hike a nearby trail in the Adirondacks--the Bear Creek Trail at Cranberry Lake. Here's the view.

Daddy-Daughter Date

Back in June, we had an Activity Day for just the girls and their dads. They had a 3-legged/handed race that included eating jello without using your hands. They also got to race for musical chairs and dance their way out of musical freeze. Later, they had pizza and cupcakes. Panda and Papa had a grand ol' time!

Popsicle stick and whipped cream--what a mess!

Ha, ha, ha! I've got you now, Daddy!

Poodle-dee-doo

Panda's 4th grade concert had a 50s theme, and the kids were asked to dress up in period costume. Mama has a friend who is a costume designer, and her friend graciously agreed to make a poodle skirt for Panda (we just paid for the material). Panda got to decorate the doggy herself. The concert was a success, and Panda had a lot of fun doo-wop'n and twistin' and shoutin'!

Honey Bear Turns 2

Our little Honey turned 2 in April. Oh, the places she'll go!

She loves music, and she loves her daddy!

Oooooh! Aaaaah!

Forget the wish, I'm going for the frosting--NOW!

Mmm...frosting. And ice cream.

Sticky sweet Honey Bear!

Panda's No-smoking Project

Panda Bear had to complete big no-smoking project for her 4th grade class. She worked very hard, and with a little help from Mama, made this stupendous poster. She got an A!

Trained

A few months after the fairy prince incident, Cinnamon had finally trained her little bro to wear dress-up clothes. (It's not so bad, as long as he doesn't have to wear wings.)

First Day of School 2011

Cinnamon was so excited for her very first day of school. After years of begging and pleading (she was taught pre-k at home since we couldn't get her into the school pre-k program), she finally got to get on that yellow school bus and be a grown-up little kid, just like her big sis! She loved her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Sorice, and still sees her around school this year.

Panda posed nice for the camera, but she wasn't nearly as excited as her little sis. School's such a drag!

Best friends!

This is what happens when your big sis is a major girly girl. He SO did not want to be a fairy prince.

Cinnamon's 5th Bday

OK, so this goes back over a year, to Cinnamon's 5th birthday. You'll see some pictures from this year's birthday soon.

So excited to open her presents!

Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh!

Can't wait to open her opened presents!

Sprinkles!

Chocolate cake. Yum, yum.

Happy Christmas 2011!

Well, we attempted to take a cheap family photo ourselves. This was the result. Not perfect, but not too bad. At least no one was crying!

The Year With No Blog!

Wow! Time flies by way too fast. I took a glance at our blog this morning and realized it's been a year since I last posted. Whoops! I'm remedying that today. I'm going to overwhelm my family friends with lots and lots of posts, trying to get caught up on the past year. And it's been a busy one! (Baby bear is no longer a baby, so her name will be now be "Honey Bear.")
